  • 1 large onion or 2 small onions, roughly chopped
  • 200g swede (optional)
  • 200g butternut squash (optional)
  • 6 reduced-salt beef stock cubes
  • 3–4 tbsp Bovril
  • Approximately 500ml extra hot water
  • Black pepper, to taste
