Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan-assisted).
- In a large bowl, combine the beef mince, half of the chopped onion, half of the minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape into meatballs.
- Spray a frying pan with low-calorie cooking spray and brown the meatballs over medium heat, then remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté the remaining onion, garlic, and red bell pepper until soft.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and tomato puree, stirring to combine. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
- Mix the cooked pasta with the tomato sauce, then transfer to a baking dish.
- Place the meatballs on top of the pasta, sprinkle with grated cheese, and bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

- If you prefer spicier meatballs, add a pinch of chili flakes to the mince mixture.
- Try using different types of pasta for variety, such as fusilli or macaroni.
- For an extra smoky flavor, add a teaspoon of liquid smoke to the tomato sauce.
